![]() "Insight" wrote in message m... I just bought the radio on ebay, needless to say it aint right! It's deaf even to local 50,00 watt am'ers. My guess would be the rf amp, anyone know which device this is? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ My guess, the 1st FET is blown in the RF amp circuit. The radio was probably left on during a thunderstorm and a nearby lightning strike took the FET out. Been there done that with an old RS reciever. On the plus side its a fairly easy and cheap fix. You'll need a schematic or service manual to do it yourself. Start at the antenna input and start working your way back to the first FET and check it. FET's dont like voltage spikes. Jeff |
