Okay, Brian. I've seen enough posts about the E1, and
I'm curious about your take on it. Especially compared to your other receivers in the shack. --Mike L. "Brian Hill" wrote in message ... 0020 6875AM Great sig into S MN. Hey! Goatsmith!! Especially compared to your other receivers in the shack. --Mike L. I don't know what more I can say about it? It's got tons of features that actually work and it's extremely sensitive and it sounds good. Its got a huge memory bank that is very easy to use and I like the scrolling either by country or freq.. I like that the step button is right by the main tuning knob and SSB actually works like it should with a functional AGC that's easily switched from fast/slow/auto and the sync and PBT top notch. It keeps up pretty well with trusty R-5000 or NRD 525. Thats saying a lot! I only wish I could hook it to my laptop but It's possible some smart guy will find a way to tap into it by way of its programming plugs? You guys know I've owned and repaired ton's of radios and my honest opinion is that it is truly an above average radio that performs wonderfully. It is what it is " A portable radio designed to compete with all other portables" and it does that and a little more. I went and barrowed one from my buddy before I bought this one and that's what sold me on it, Not the hype. YMMV? -- Regards B.H. No it actually doe's rather well with faint signals when comparing it to my tabletop rigs. I think if I piped the signal into my DSP software I would really have something. It is quite a bit better than my Sat700. I wish I had a 2010 I could compare it with. Maybe I'll get one of those and see? Bh |
