Ahh, thanks David. Good link, especially the part about the antique
mall. I have one such mall here in town. I see a few old table radios there every time I stop by. I will look for one with a broken case. Hmmm, come to think, I just remember that I have an old wooden silvertone radio/record player - sans the record player. Maybe I will open her up tonight. 73 Bob David wrote: On 27 Jun 2006 09:29:20 -0700, "N9NEO" wrote: I have a HAMMARLUND HX-FIFTY transmitter that I recently went through. New transformer, recap, align... It works very nice, but I broke the tuning slug for one of the 40m coupling transformers. I replaced it with one of the 20m slugs and it aligned ok. I am looking for a slug now to replace the broken one. So where do I get one? It is about 1/4" diameter and the standard hex head. I wonder if they are still being produced today. I am not even very sure what it is made out of. Maybe powder iron or ferrite???? I prefer not to scrap a radio for just one slug. Somebody told me to go to hamfest, but I don't go to those often. regards, Bob You can build your own. http://www.angelfire.com/electronic/.../IF_Can-1.html |
