Default Shortwave Transmitter Site Archive - Update

Hi Folks,

NEWS UPDATE FROM: The Shortwave Transmitter Site Archive/Database (Free
Yahoo Group). See it listed in Yahoo Groups.

The latest updates to the CURRENT & EXTINCT Excel files have been
uploaded & are now available for you to download at your leisure.

CHANGES for 2006.
1. I have updated most of the entries for the station users of the
Current SW
TXer Sites.
2. I have included a NEW 'Logging' TICK field "L" for users to tick (if
they
wish to print out their own copies) OR for users to post their own
BOXED TICK Wingding Font
character into the spreadsheet. You can find an example of a 'Boxed
Tick' at the bottom of the
AFRICA spreadsheet.
3. Re above I have deleted by own TICKS from the verification BOX
field.
Unfortunately in haste I have forgotten to delete my own QSL date data
in the 'QSL Date' field. But users can delete that.
4. There have been several updates to site data in both the CURRENT &
EXTINCT files.
5. More notes have been added & in the future there will be more
alternate names or spellings of transmitter sites & reference to each
so we all know which sites are which etc. I know there has been alot of
confusion of multiple names & references all to the same site, which is
confusing to the dxer. Hopefully through the resources of the united
global DX community we will resolve in quick time the confusion that
exists out there.
6. In future there will be an expansion of the new Latitude/longitude
geo-coordinate data. The format will be compatable with Google Earth so
users can cut & paste the
data into Google Earth & see the shortwave site of their desire.

There still REMAINS a HUGE amount of data to be churned through in both
files. I
simply don't have enough time & resources to do it all on my own, hence
I will need
your assistance & the assistance of the global Shortwave community to
assist with the
reporting of errors & the supply of information to get these files into
good shape.

I beleive this is a worthwhile project & have been supported well by a
couple of
you to date. Thank you for your assistance.

These files will be continously updated, but only uploaded once every 4
- 8
weeks or so. I don't wish to bother you all with constant updates &
messages.

Anyway drop us a line anytime:
If you like what I'm doing.
If you know someone who would like to help with this project
If you can assist in anyway. Eg. Donations, error reporting, news,
tranmission antenna
photos etc

Membership is FREE. To subscribe send an email to: shortwavesites (@)
gmail.com

Prospective members should be aware that both Excel files are still in
what I would term draft status. Your assistance can change that & thus
assist other dxers with their enjoyment of our great hobby.

Regards

Ian
AUSTRALIA.
