Hearing Radio Habana Cuba on 9550 at 0256. 9550 is targeted to Central
America. I can't hear any of the frequencies for North America.

Is this the same for everyone else?

I live in Oregon.

Hi Kevin:
I'm in San Francisco. Over here, the best time to listen seems to be 0500-0700 UTC. The frequencies would be 6000 / 9550 / 11760 khz.

RHC is one of my favorite broadcasters, and I have several RHC reception reports on my weblog: http://cobaltpet.blogspot.com/

No, 6000 kHz was coming in fine here in Seattle about 10:00 PM.
I think 6080 (?, 6060?) was there, too.

Good sounding audio, so they must have done some station work...

The BBC on 7120 kHz at 9:00 PM (4:00 UTC) was coming in good, too.

I like the news on RHC. It is 100% factual, but makes use of errors of
omission and other editing techniques to slant it slightly in their
favor. It was great when Tom Delay was still in the House as he was
their poster boy for US corruption.

I recall a RHC report about the US Embassy having an electronic sign
that dissed Castro. Later, I heard an ABC news report about Castro
cutting power to the US Embassy. Well, duh, that is one way to turn off
that sign. Of course, ABC didn't mention the electric sign.

Try 9820 this has generally been their best frequency to my area for
years. I heard them tonight in english on this frequency S9 +10 and they
sounded pretty good except the audio was about 1/2 strength. I would not
encourage them to crank it up because they will probably start to
splatter or something worse. I don't listen to them but stopped long
enough to note better than usual modulation (clean an undistorted) but
weak.

According to Passport 2006 they are english on this frequency 01:00 to
05:00 UTC.

There was a picture (along with an article about US diplomats in Cuba)
in the local paper this last week showing that the Cubans had put a
flag plaza in front of the US interest section so that you can't
see the display anymore.
