Funny you should mention that. Back in the late 70's I went to a
presentation by Intel on the 8085. One of the applications they
suggested for it was toasters!

I remember something like that. Perfect toast every time. And
programmable, IIRC, so you could set it up the night before to make your
breakfast toast in the morning.

Ah...the days of promise.

IIRC, the 6502 processor as used in the Apple II was originally to be
used in washing machines and other appliances...
