Can someone please tell me what a fair price would be for a PK-232 Data
Controller ? It is in "as new" condition, has never been modified in any way, comes with cables and a manual for the PC-Pakratt Teminal Program but no software. Thanks and best regards, Art WB4VVO |

Thanks and best regards, Art WB4VVO ------------ REPLY FOLLOWS ------------ The PK-232 was adequate in its day, but there is lots of free software now which does a better job using your computer's soundcard. The one exception to that is Amtor/Pactor, since there doesn't seem to be any software for that, but hardly anyone uses either of those anymore. For RTTY, use MMTTY and for PSK31, use DigiPan or any of a dozen clones. If you absolutely insist on using it on RTTY, please change the default shift to 170 Hz instead of the non-standard 200 as it comes from the factory. I'd suggest you polish it up, put it on the shelf and consider it a piece of history. Bill, W6WRT |
