The ICF-2001, brought out in 1980, was the first microprocessor-
controlled, dual-conversion, frequency-synthesized general-coverage portable receiver. Tuning can be done in the four ways that are now common: direct entry via keypad, manually with up-down buttons, scanning, or recalling up to six stored frequencies. Coverage: 150-29999 kHz (AM/CW/SSB) and 76-108 MHz (FM). Earphone and record-out jacks, separate bass and treble controls, +/- 6 kHz SSB fine tuning. This one has no operational problems. It is about an 8 in appearance, maybe better. I like to be conservative. The front panel is unmarred except for a few very small shiny spots on the speaker grill. The lettering, which is often partly rubbed off on many 2001's, is intact. The telescoping antenna is straight and slides smoothly, all compartment doors are present, and all switches and controls function properly. It is lacking the strap, and a previous owner's name and ID are scratched into the lower right corner of the back (visible in photos). The original manual is included and is in excellent condition. I will supply a universal wall wart. Photos are available. $110 includes shipping in lower 48. |
