I have a Heathkit HW-8 rig for sale. It is in 99% perfect unmodified
original condition. It has two tiny scratches and two very small chips
on it, but the scratches are not deep and probably could be fixed rather
easily. The rig is clean inside and operates perfectly on all 4 bands.
I love this radio, but I bought it thinking I would use it all the time,
but I never really did get into using it- partially because I was afraid
that I would scratch it or something. It needs to go to someone that can
really appreciate it and give it some use on the bands.
The dials are accurately aligned, The switches switch nicely. The sound
of the receiver is good (I love DC receivers).
I did not build the rig but I bought it from the person who did. I have
opened it up and that is how I know that it is nice inside and built
very well.
I will start at $180 on the price, but I may be able to go down some.
I think that this starting price is very reasonable, seeing that I have
seen HW-8s in not as good condition as this one go for upwards of $200
on ebay.
