Every now and then somebody posts a radio for sale and says "I only took it out of the box to test it and then I put it back in the box". Why buy it in the first place if you're not going to use it?? Why not look at the spec sheet on the manufactures site, they tested it. Just curious, I do see this about once a month or so. Any ideas? __________________________________________________ _______ I always read this as "I tested it, didn't like what I saw, and put it back in the box". Every time I see a radio with "only one hour of use" on it, I'm tempted to ask what he didn't like about it but I doubt I'd get an honest answer. Cynical? Who, me? :-) -- Bill, W6WRT QSLs via LoTW I've seen examples of "new" - never been out of the box. They lied like hell. "Radio straight from the factory, never been touched, fried, etc." All the while, there is an "extra" switch on there that sure in hell wasn't put there by the factory. Ask about the switch - "oh it was modified." Well now, that is a different tune from the "new" never been out of the box, so which is it? The old adage will always apply.. Caveat Emptor. ESPECIALLY via online sales. Lou |
