.248... Hi all, I have been looking at some of these newsgroups for a few years now. There is something I don't understand. Every now and then somebody posts a radio for sale and says "I only took it out of the box to test it and then I put it back in the box". Why buy it in the first place if you're not going to use it?? There seem to be a surprising number of hams like this, (Wealthy?) who buy a new rig, maybe play with it a little bit, then go on to something else. I've been aware of a couple guys like this in my part of the country over the past several years. Ed WB6SAT In my beginning days of Ham radio, there was a guy who would buy H.T.s and mobile rigs for 2 meters. He would try them for about a month. He would get as many reports as he could, and give you his opinion. Good or Junk. Then he would get rid of it to move on to the next. Yes, he sold the "junk" too, as not everyone agreed with him, so obviously, they'd be happy to get "their" choice of radio. I have to say, he influenced my first HT purchase choice. He's now testing radios in radio heaven. Lou |
