The G4HFQ software is *much* better. And infinitely better supported.
Uses the same cables which you can build or buy inexpensively from RT
Systems. But stick with Bob G4HFQ's software.

You may wish to join the FT-8800 and FT-8900 user's groups on
yahoohgroups.com. The FT-8900 is a lot more active and most of the
posts relate to the -8800 too. The -8800 group is rather small.

Neither is high traffic.

The archives have reviews of the different software packages,
accessories, operating tips, undocumented features, etc.
