1 - Linear Amp. Penetrater HB 200 "Amateur" Bi- Linear Amp. It has settings for SSB and AM. The case and overall physical condition is about an 8.5. IT DOES NOT WORK, and I'm not sure what all is needed to get it working. Therefore it is being sold AS IS for parts/experimentation. Maybe to use the parts such as the transformer to make another Linear for H.F. There is a good case, most likely a good transformer (hefty little bugger) and some other parts and so on. The unit states "AMATEUR" on it. My luck it may be a CB Amp, but I can't swear to it. I have no paper work on it to tell me what band it is capable of doing since there is no band switch on it NOR label. All I can say is - to my knowledge - it has one final transistor yanked. I'm not sure what else may be wrong with it, if anything. It operates off of 120 VAC and has a 12VDC tap on back to operate a mobile radio or some other appliance. Again, it is NOT working and being sold for PARTS/EXPERIMENTATION. I can't see how selling a dysfunctional item is illegal. Not any more so, than selling a 2 way or ham radio to an unlicensed person as has been done numerous times, even by Radio Shack. Not any worse than selling a car with a bad motor or transmission to an unlicensed driver. They can't use it til they get it fixed, then the proper operation of the item is on them - not me. I did have a reserve on it on E-Bay and some one had met that reserve within 2 hours of it being listed - before E-Bay pulled it and gave me a lecture on CB amps - never mind all the models they allowed to remain on there which clearly indicated for CB use. IF any parties are interested in seeing a photo of this unit and/or buying it, E-mail me direct. IF it is illegal to sell this as is even if not working, then I'll strip the ******* down and sell it piece by piece. Surely it can't be illegal to sell PARTS. Surely someone can use the parts. I know one thing, they can't nail me for "using it". It is in my way and I have no desire to try to fix it. It never worked the whole time I've had it. It came to me in a trade of a bulk of items. I've not even been on my Ham equipment let alone CB for a LONG time. No desire anymore. If anyone knows just what band this amp DOES work on please let me know. This is one item I've no clue about of all the stuff I've ever sold. IF you're interested in said item, e-mail me with any questions or offers. Best Offer gets the item. The transformer alone ought to be worth a few bucks. Payment is by USPS money order only and will get immediate shipping. By the way, Shipping is NOT included in this offer and the unit does have some weight to it, so be prepared to pay a few bucks for shipping. I ship with some way to trace the package and all are required to be insured. No exceptions. |

Sounds like a illegal CB amp to me.

And I admitted to the fact it "could be" - just wasn't sure given it is
labeled "amateur". I'm selling the damned thing for PARTS. Not in working condition. OR if it's illegal to sell whole for parts, I'll strip it and sell the parts FROM it. Anyone who builds amps - I'm sure - could make use of at least the transformer and case. Surely it should be legal to sell THE parts. But it ****es me off, my listing got booted off of e-bay yet there were others still labeled and even clearly stating "CB" in the ad - remaining and they gave ME a lecture of CB AMPS! Ha ha ha. Maybe my amp ad was inappropriate and that's ok - policy is policy, but then so too were the rest and it is nothing short of discrimination to bump one and not the rest. I doubt there's anything illegal about an individual selling the amp, even fully assenbled and working. It would only be illegal to use it within the ham bands without the proper license, or outside the ham bands, under any circumstance. Bob k5qwg |

Selling it for "parts" sure in hell can't be illegal. Some if not all can be
used to make an "H.F. Amp! Lou "Bob Miller" wrote in message ... On Thu, 13 May 2004 15:32:42 -0400, "Lou" wrote: FS: 1 - Linear Amp. Penetrater HB 200 "Amateur" Bi- Linear Amp.
