Kenwood TH-D7A(G) Dual Band Ham Radio HT. This superb HT is just a month
old, has been used a few times in the shack, and is in new condition. Included items: Radio, wall charger, 12 volt Kenwood battery, W&W 6 volt battery, W&W desktop charger, Kenwood SC-40 case, Kenwood dual band antenna, GPS cable, computer to radio cable, beltclip, standard & advanced manuals, warranty card (not filled in), box, Kenwood computer memory program on CD (also downloadable from the net). You can see pics he http://www.cc-techno.com/kenwood.html. Radio is pictured with the W&W battery attached. It is a thin NI-MH sized battery providing 2.5 watts out with 900 ma for long lasting charge with no memory effect. It charges in about 8 hours in the W&W desktop charger. The standard 12 volt nicad (NI-CD) Kenwood battery provides 5 watts out at 600ma, will charge while attached to the radio using the standard wal-wart, and will also charge in the W&W desktop charger. It requires 16 hours to recharge with the adapter, so that is why you need a second battery & charger with this HT. I chose the W&W battery because of it smaller size (much thinner), larger milliamp capacity, and being a NI-MH there is no memory effect – it can be recharged without running the battery all the way down first. The deluxe SC-40 case is not available in the USA. It is a quality case that includes pockets for small items and an adjustable shoulder strap. The computer cable allows hookup to a PC which enables you to: load & save memory settings to & from the radio, receive APRS packets to display on your computer screen (WinAPRS program available on the net), use other computer Packet software. This unique HT has the Sky Command System II which allows you to transmit & receive 2 meters to HF while remotely controlling your TS-2000 – punch in HF frequencies, memories, change modes, etc. while you are away from your radio. Having the built-in APRS software the radio will allow you to display and transmit APRS packet data & messages on 144.390 (USA APRS frequency) and also from the ISS (International Space Station) & other packet frequencies. I was able to pick up APRS data from pilots thru the ISS from my location here in Fort Lauderdale. Receives 113 to 179Mhz and 400 to 480Mhz. You can also transmit & receive pictures with the optional VC-H1 Kenwood visual communicator. No mods have been done. You can view more specs on the Kenwood web site and read reviews at eham.net. This HT works and sounds great- a real gem of a radio. I have $530 invested. Here is the breakdown: radio-$360, W&W battery & charger-$105, SC-40 case-$40, computer cable $25. Will sell for $440 including USA shipping. Paypal or money order accepted. Abe Betesh, W4FTL, Fort Lauderdale, (954) 771-7465 home, (954) 593-4752 cell, .
