I will be traveling to Mexico some time in the next month or so, the
question is: Do I need special permission to take my FT-817 into the country (and operate of course.) When I went to Bermuda, I had to get permission and a temporary ham ticket from their government. Does Mexico have such a requirement for visiting Canadian hams? The last thing I need is some overzealous customs agent seizing my rig. What do I have to do to be perfectly legal? Thanks, VE3PMK |

Glenn, thanks for the pointer. That was very informative. To be honest,
it's not worth ~$75 bucks and all that bother just to squeeze a little QRP DX into a few hours over the week. I will be nice when they join the ranks of 'reciprocal ticket' no additional special permits required. (Bermuda was simply a two page fax to their embassy (copy of my ticket and a letter asking for permission.) Zero fees, and a temporary Bermuda license arrived in the mail about 3 week later.) Thank you again for taking the time to post the reply. Pat, VE3PMK Glenn wrote: "phoneguy99" wrote in message . .. What do I have to do to be perfectly legal?
