Good morning/afternoon/evening to all. I have a bunch of "stuff" I don't
have room for, and I also lack a bunch of "stuff" that I also don't have room for, but need nonetheless! In particular... Stuff I need: - A good, solid 2m/440 dualband (or just 2-meter) mobile or HT (must be reasonably portable). A PL tone generator would be nice, since most of the local repeaters around here require it. - Weller "PT" series or compatible soldering iron tips. I've only got one, and it's corroded down to a stump after somebody used it with some nasty acid-core solder. I'm not too particular about temperature, but I need a pretty fine point. Used is okay, if in good condition. - Heat-shrink tubing, assorted sizes. I'm fresh out! - "Press-'n'Peel" toner transfer film, or a similar product. This stuff is used to make PC boards the "lazy" way, by ironing laser printer toner onto the board as the resist mask instead of doing it photographically. Stuff I might be willing to part with: - Tons of electronic components... voltage regulators, capacitors, resistors, diodes, transistors, optocouplers, transformers, speakers and microphones, etc. Let me know what you need; I probably have it. - Thousands and thousands of LED's in red, green, and amber. - An Archer coax switch, with SO-239 (female version of PL-259) connectors. Probably designed for CB use, but should do a decent job for ham use as well. - A BK Precision 1803A 100mHz frequency counter. Can handle input voltages up to 200V, and the gate period is selectable between 0.1 and 1.0 seconds. Can be run off a single 9V battery, or hold a pack of NiCd AA's and charge them when connected to an AC adapter. - A little HeNe (helium-neon) laser and power supply, removed from some sort of equipment. The power supply runs on 12 volts DC and does fine with a 500mA wallwart. The tube puts out "about 1mW", but I don't have the equipment to make an exact measurement. It's very bright. - A bunch of xenon gas discharge tubes ("flash tubes", like the kind you see in cameras)... everything from tiny, 1" tubes to a huge, coiled tube that mounts in a relay socket. Plus some little amber neon bulbs. - Lots and lots of copper-clad epoxyboard for making printed circuit boards. I have a sheet metal guillotine and can cut to specific sizes on request. I also have a bunch of ferric chloride in crystalline form, to be mixed (carefully!) with water to make etchant solution. - A case of 50 200V, 1000uF capacitors (great for building or repairing power supplies) - About 100 feet of RG-8X ("mini RG-8") coaxial cable - Another 50 feet of RG-8X, terminated with PL-259's - A few thousand '7441 BCD-to-decimal decoder/driver chips. These take a 4-bit BCD input and drive one of 10 leads low. They're pretty tough, and were originally designed to sink the cathodes of "Nixie" type numerical displays. They also work great for LED's or incandescents. These chips are pretty rare these days, and I was lucky to stumble upon such a quantity, but I really have no use for this many of them! I have a brief datasheet, including a pinout diagram, for anyone who's interested. - Between 6,000 and 10,000 '7490 decade counter chips, in original anti-static plastic tubes. - Tons more IC's, including '7805s and '7812s, lots from the "74 series", and more. - Lots and lots of other goodies... feel free to ask if there's something you need that you don't see here; I just might have it. - I can fabricate and assemble printed circuit boards. If you need boards made, I'd be happy to do so in return for any of the "wanted" items above. I'm no professional, but I do a decent job. When responding, send a copy directly to me via email in case I forget to check back on Usenet.
