so, then I opened the lid of my Hammarlund HQ-180, and reached behind the 24
hour Telechron clock to set it. I did not see (probably, because I did not look) that the terminal strip with the 2 terminals had fried, and broken loose. I stuck my finger between the strip and the field, and broke both wires loose from the field. It looks like some of the wire from the top (outside) of the winding remains. but I don't seen any lead from the bottom. The condition of all of the rest of the clock, gears, switch, scale and cover are very good. I now have the coil/laminations/gear-case in my hand. I do not see an easy way to take this any further apart. Do they still make these? Does anyone have one to sell? Or, a complete clock? Seems like someone makes battery operated replacement clocks. Any comments about these? Where, who, how much? It was a very, very nice 180, until I did this.
